Abstract:

This research investigates the relationship between sports anxiety and sports performance among Indian college athletes. A sample of 201 athletes from various sports was surveyed to assess their level of sports anxiety and their perceived sports performance. Results revealed that a significant number of athletes experienced anxiety related to various aspects of sports such as competition, evaluation, and skill execution. Moreover, there was a negative relationship between sports anxiety and athletes' performance in various sports which was statistically significant. By promoting mental wellness and providing athletes with the necessary tools and support to manage their anxiety, we can help them perform better and reach their full potential in sports.
