This article comprehensively analyses shooting accuracy within the Ethiopian Basketball Premier League during the 2020/21 season. This study uses various inferential statistical techniques, including T-tests, ANOVA, Chi-Square tests, correlation analysis, and regression analysis, to evaluate the relationship between performance metrics such as passing accuracy and shooting accuracy across multiple teams. The analysis focuses on five male basketball clubs, collecting data from match videos and score sheets to ensure a robust evaluation. Key findings reveal significant differences in shooting accuracy among teams, with Diredawa Kenema Basketball Club demonstrating notably higher accuracy. Furthermore, a strong positive correlation (r = 0.65, P = 0.004) between passing accuracy and shooting accuracy indicates that effective passing contributes to shooting success. The study concludes that targeted shooting and passing skills training is crucial for enhancing overall team performance. These insights are valuable for coaches, players, and basketball federations in Ethiopia, providing actionable recommendations for improving shooting practices.
