This study aims to explore the relationship between achievement motivation among players in the Iraqi Premier League and their psychological predisposition to perform at their best. This research was conducted with a descriptive, predictive correlation approach that is appropriate for this type of research. A sample of 96 players from different clubs within the Premier League was used as a source for data collection; players were randomly selected from the clubs through a stratified random sampling method. Statistical analyses performed on the data revealed that there is a strong relationship between psychological predisposition and achievement motivation (for football) with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.981 with an R-squared (R2) value of 0.962. Thus, psychological predisposition has a significant influence on achievement motivation, and the F-value calculated was greater than the F-critical value at the 0.05 level of significance. Therefore, psychological predisposition is one of the main psychological factors that influence achievement motivation for football players. The researcher suggests that, along with technical and physical training, psychological preparation should be included in the training regimen for football players, as it positively affects motivation and performance.
